The Institute for Genomics, Biocomputing and Biotechnology, or IGBB, at Mississippi State University is a strategic partner of the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station.

IGBB serves MAFES as a recognized leader in emerging genomic, proteomics and computational biology research.

IGBB uses state-of-the-art equipment to generate molecular data that can be translated into biological knowledge. The institute's genomic, proteomics and computational biology expertise helps MAFES researchers across a range of multidisciplinary fields within agriculture, life sciences and natural resource management. The research is applied to such real-world sectors as healthcare, agriculture, energy and more.

IGBB also hosts AgBase, an online resource for analysis of agricultural plant and animal gene products. The long-term goal of this resource is to facilitate genome annotation for agricultural researchers, among others.
